“sole” vs soul

yes, we know the difference between sole and soul

A lot of first questions with our business name is “why ‘sole’ instead of ‘soul’?” Courtney, specifically choose Heart and ‘Sole’ Therapy as her business name. The term ‘sole’ comes from the sole of a horse’s hoof. Horses have always been a passion of Courtney’s and they carried her on many journeys throughout her life. Through riding, training and competing, she learned to pour her heart and soul into everything she does. The ultimate dream, passion and goal of her business is to offer hippotherapy to her clinic in the near future.

One of her favorite quotes from “More Than Just a Horse,” is “In their eyes, we find solace and our troubles melt away; in their presence, we find sanctuary and our spirits soar.”

"You don't need to see the whole staircase, just take the first step"

Martin Luther King Jr.

what our clients are saying?

Britta Dalbey connected so well with my daughter and helped to evaluate her speech needs and develop and implement a treatment plan. I knew I wanted her to help with my son when we discovered he needed help with speech as well. She proved just as invaluable with him. We saw excellent results and my kids always looked forward to visits with Britta.

Courtney is amazing! She is very understanding, listens, asks questions, and really gets up in your business, which is a good thing if you want a strong, respectable, and straight forward therapist. I felt extremely comfortable when telling her all about myself. She does not make you feel embarrassed or self-conscious at all. I would recommend. . .

Dr. Courtney James Founder, Owner Physical Therapist, Pelvic Floor Specialist

Dr. Courtney James is the founder and owner of Heart & Sole Therapy. She is a Montana native who was raised in Laurel, MT. She graduated from the University of Montana with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and moved back home. A passion for women’s health and pediatrics led her to completing extensive course work in both areas and eventually opening her own clinic where she focuses her time and energy on serving the children and women of Billings. Dr. James has always wanted to bring her passion and love for horses into the physical therapy realm. She has completed her level one and level two training through the American Hippotherapy Association and is currently studying to become a Board Certified Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist. Her dream is to open a facility in Billings that will house horses within a clinical environment to treat individuals with the use of equine movement in a sensory rich atmosphere.

Dr. James is a wife and mother of two beautiful children, and many horses and animals. She loves spending time outdoors, camping with family and friends, riding and training horses, attending equestrian events, and ice cream.

Many people with various challenges have gone from doctor to doctor without a resolution to their symptoms; Courtney is dedicated to helping you get to the root of your issue and dedicated to getting you to your best self. She seeks to challenge the current healthcare system and change the narrative so that women and children can receive the best care possible.
