Dr. Courtney James is the founder and owner of Heart & Sole Therapy. Courtney offers personalized care that goes beyond traditional pelvic floor physical therapy, she focuses on restoring balance within the body, and meeting you where you are in your journey. She is passionate about patient advocacy and believes that women and children deserve a better standard of care when it comes to pelvic health.

Many people with various pelvic floor issues have gone from doctor to doctor without a resolution to their symptoms; Courtney is dedicated to helping you get to the root of your issue. She seeks to challenge the current healthcare system and change the narrative so that women and children can receive the best care possible. She has extensive training on pelvic floor topics including women’s health, pregnancy and postpartum, pelvic pain, visceral mobilization, bowel dysfunction, and pediatric disorders and potty training.

Courtney understands the importance of pediatric therapy and supports children in developing essential life skills through play, daily routines, and therapeutic activities. Ultimately, enabling children to thrive in various aspects of life with help of occupational, physical and speech therapy.

Courtney’s guidance not only restored me to engaging in life like I hadn’t since having kids, but also helped me find a piece of myself that had been missing. - L.R. Courtney has helped me immensely with pelvic floor workouts, building better health habits, understanding my body and it’s functions, and overall is incredible what she does. She takes the time to listen to you and genuinely cares about curing the problem, not just throwing a bandaid on top of it. She is trustworthy, reliable, communicative and I would recommend her to all in search in search of her services. -A.N. After experiencing Pelvic Floor Dysfunction for over six years, working with Courtney made it possible for me to engage in activities that I had avoided. Even though I live far from Billings, she worked with me to find ways to make noticeable and prolific progress. Courtney’s guidance not only restored me to engaging in life like I hadn’t since having kids, but also helped me find a piece of myself that had been missing. I will forever be grateful for the time working with such a professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate Physical Therapist. -L.R. My husband and I took our-6-year-old with constipation and soiling issues to see Courtney for pelvic floor therapy and a new treatment she had not yet tried out on a patient before so we were VERY excited to be her first patient to try this new program! Courtney was incredibly compassionate and understanding. The program was a year long and between her dedication, hard work and our work at home, we saw such substantial progress in just a few short weeks. Not only did our son see her for pelvic floor therapy, but I saw her as well after our daughter was born. After having 4 kids in a little bit of time, my body didn't have much time to heal and boy did she kick my ass in a good way. She pushed me just enough so my body knew how it was supposed to work it the right way. She made me feel SO much better. She cares for the well being of ALL of her patients and truly wants everyone to get better. I would highly recommend Courtney for any type of physical therapy needs if you are looking for one. -T.Y. I am so glad I found Courtney to treat my son’s core and pelvic floor issues. She keeps each session fun and engaging for him and the home exercises manageable for me. We’ve seen amazing results already and are excited to continue working with her. I’d recommend her to any parent looking for a pediatric PT especially for pelvic floor! -J.H. My first birth was extremely difficult and traumatizing, resulting in pelvic floor dysfunction. Because of this, I felt like birthing a second child would be out of the question. However, after working with Courtney, I felt empowered and encouraged to have another child. My second birth was a much better experience because of the knowledge and experience Courtney offered that allowed me to heal. -R.P. We have been seeing Courtney for my daughter’s bowel and bladder issues! She has worked wonders for us and gave us new hope -T.N.B.

The term “hippotherapy” is derived from the Greek word “hippos,” which means horse. While it may sound like a recreational activity, it is, in fact, a specialized intervention conducted by trained physical therapists, occupational therapists, or speech-language pathologists, who incorporate the movement of the horse into their treatment plans.
